Possible Family/Friends BBQ

Charlie Company is looking to do a family/friend BBQ on September 29th. The BBQ will most likely take place on San Clemente Beach, but that is yet to be confirmed. What we'd like to know is how many people would be interested in attending this event. The company realizes that the majority of the people will have to fly in from all over the country to attend. Keep in mind, the Battalion's Memorial Service will be on September 28th and the Battalion Commander's Change of Command will go on the morning of the 29th. These are both events that we encourage all to attend.

If there are enough people that will be coming out to the Memorial Service, Change of Command, we will make the BBQ happen. This is great opportunity for you to meet all the Marines of Charlie Company and their families. More details to follow based upon interest.

If you plan on making these events, please email the following address with the number of people you expect to share in the festivities: hardluckchuck@hotmail.com

I apologize for not being able to post as often as I would like. We have been extremely busy with the turnover to the oncoming battalion and have not been in a position to use the internet very often at all. My wife has been publishing the posts I sent her to keep the site up to date.

The Marines are doing extremely well down this home stretch. They have not been able to take as many pictures as they would like. I know a lot of the photos have not been very personal, so apologies on that, as well.

Everything is still on schedule for your Marines' return. The new company will be on deck here at the end of the week, so your Marines will be busy showing them all the 'nooks and crannies' of our AO. One and a half more weeks of work and they'll be smooth sailing home to you all.

Stay motivated. Semper Fi.

I know what you're thinking, this doesn't look like Iraq. Well, let me tell you...the landscape changes about every mile or two. Cities, rural area, farm land, palm groves, and complete desert...to name a few.

Sweeping the Canal

The Marines patrol a canal. Traditionally, the insurgents like these areas for a number of reasons. They don't, however, like it when we're in the area.

Racked Out

Sometimes the operations just catch up with you and there's no need for a rack. Cpl Spangler (Motor-T) is the prime example of this.
