New Lil' Waller

Congratulations are in order for the Cpl Richard Waller, 3rd Plt, and his wife Adrian for the birth of their new son. Swarming the Town

The Marines swarm a local town after getting some intelligence of insurgent activity. Let's put it this way, the insurgents are not liking the Marines being in their back yard.

Iraqi Gun Truck

This is an Iraqi Army gun truck with a soldier in the back. As you can see, these guys are fighting with a lot less than what we are, but they're still fighting. Oorah.

More Care

Doc Douglas and Sgt Wishnia attend to a hurt Iraqi kid. As you can see, we run into this a lot on our patrols. It's a great way for the Marines to 'Win the Hearts and Minds' of the country.

Temporary Mission

As of March 12th, Charlie Company is on a mission at Abu Ghraib Prison for an indefinite amount of time. We are responsible for conducting the same type of operations we were conducting back in the Fallujah area, we're just doing it in the surrounding villages of the prison.

The Marines are doing very well. Everyone has arrived safe and sound, so no worries. If you haven't heard from your Marine, it's most likely because he immediately jumped into operations upon arrival.

As soon as I get some pictures, I'll get them up. Believe it or not, this is a nice change of pace from what we were doing before. (It makes the time go by faster.)

Semper Fidelis.

Chow

Marines from 1st Platoon eat some Iraqi chow in an abandoned house. The neighbors were so happy to see these guys in their neighborhood, they hooked them up with a free meal.

Thank You

Charlie Company would like to say thank you to Bob and Joan Johnson (Canby, OR) for organizing and enlisting help to make the entire company fleece sleeping bag inserts. We would also like to thank the Capo Valley Church (San Juan Capistrano, CA) for paying for the shipment of all these fleeces over to Iraq.

The Marines love these things! They're perfect for putting in your sleeping bag on chilly nights or just sleeping in while we're not in the field. Very confy!

Here, you see Marines of Charlie Company holding up their fleeces after 1stSgt Hannon handed them out.

Thanks again for your generosity and support!

Flat Stanley

This is Flat Stanley shaking hands with Gunnery Sergeant Carlson (left) and First Sergeant Hannon (right) in Fallujah, Iraq.

Stanely comes from Swarthmore, PA where the Donahue Brothers are doing an elementary school project. They're sending Stanley all over the world to experience as many places as possible, and get pictures wherever he can. So, here he is...In sunny, beautiful Iraq, hanging out with the United States Marine Corps.

After he finishes a couple more missions with Charlie Company, he's on his way back to the States for his post-deployment leave. Good for him.

Thanks for sending Flat Stanley over to hang out with us, Donahues. Eventhough he doesn't talk much, he's definitely a colorful guy.

Semper Fidelis.

Quick Brief

Lt Samuel, 4th Platoon Commander, gathers his Vehicle Commanders to brief them on his plan for movement.

The One and Only

When occupying an abandoned house for the night, Marines put ponchos up in the glass-less windows to keep out the cold wind. Our own personal Charlie Company model, LCpl Cornett, models this nice piece of gear with ease. You'll notice that LCpl Cornett is sporting the "No Tooth on the Top Row Look" as he shows off those baby blues. This is his trademark pose.

Cpl Nelson and Sgt Waters inside an Iraqi home. You can see all the beds on the floor in the background. It's not unusual to find large families sleeping in the same room in this manner.

Pvt Johnson

Like I said, the Marines are in great spirits. Here's Pvt Johnson in the 7-Ton turret. Motivation was definitely on this guy's gear list.
